BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Loriann Williams
Dr. Williams completed her Bachelor of Science at Saint Mary’s University, received her Master’s degree in Neuroscience at Queen’s University in Kingston, and completed her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Dalhousie University where her research focused on early intervention for preschoolers with ASD. She completed her clinical residency at Kingston Internship Consortium in Kingston, ON, where she worked exclusively with those with a dual diagnosis of developmental disability and mental health disorder(s). Prior to working at Turnstone Psychology, Dr. Williams worked at Child & Adolescent Mental Health and Addiction Services in Sydney.
Dr. Williams employs evidence-based psychotherapies in her treatments, primarily using Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
Dr. Williams works at Turnstone Psychology full-time.
Areas of Practice
Dr. Loriann Williams works with children, adolescents, and adults and provides:
- Diagnostic assessment and behavioral treatment of neurodevelopmental disorders, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention-deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
- Diagnostic assessment of intellectual and learning disabilities (Psychoeducational Assessment)
- Behavioral treatment of challenging behaviors related to disruptive, impulse-control, and conduct disorders and FASD
- Behavioral treatment of other pediatric issues: sensory sensitivities, emotional dysregulation, enuresis, encopresis, and sleep
- Diagnosis and treatment of depressive, anxiety, trauma-related, and obsessive-compulsive disorders
