BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Jennifer Gould
Dr. Gould enjoys working with individuals (children, youth, and adults), families, and couples. Dr. Gould incorporates cognitive-behavioural, emotion-focused, and attachment-focused therapies into her work, depending on her client’s needs. She also has training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy skills. When working with children and youth, she often encourages parent-based and family-based sessions along the way. She views parent-child attachment and support as integral components of a child’s mental health and functioning. With couples, Dr. Gould works from the framework of Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (EFCT). EFCT is an empirically validated intervention to reduce distress in relationships and create secure attachment bonds. Dr. Gould is passionate about mental health and strives to create a space of safety and curiosity as she educates, guides, and supports clients through their mental health journeys.
